MARIA PAPADOPOULOU IN A SECRET WORLD Antony Glikos, a graphic designer from Greece, created the album artwork for this CD release from Greek singer Maria Papadopoulou. Maria is, by all accounts, a very talented singer, songwriter and performer who records for WEA (Warner Music) and her music is "somewhere between Kate Bush and Tori Amos".     Her album is titled '' In A Secret World ''. Antony (Ant for short) came up with the idea to produce the artwork around an "Alice in Wonderland'' theme and found that Maria is a big fan of Alice too, and here's the result of their collaboration.

"Before she had drunk half the bottle she found her head pressing against the ceiling. She went on growing and growing, and very soon had to kneel down on the floor."

And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came!

The actual album cover is above, but Ant also did an alternative concept for the album sleeve (right). The record company preferred the "Alice in a bottle" version but the "sample box" is perhaps more in keeping with the spirit of the original story.
