Neil Sedaka brought Alice into the "Teen Scene" with his pop ballad "Alice In Wonderland". To be honest, the song has little to do with Lewis Caroll but the promotional posters made much of the Carroll character with artwork borrowed from Tenniel, although the promoters clearly couldn't differentiate between the "Wonderland" Alice and the "Looking Glass" Alice. Mind you, with lyrics such as "My heart goes pitter patter, cause I'm mad as a hatter for Alice", the Reverend Dodgson might just take a spin or two in his grave anyway.
