Rock-pop diva Gwen Stefani released the single "What You Waiting For?" from her solo album "Love. Angel. Music. Baby" in 2004 and which featured a definite "Alice In Wonderland" themed video.
A slow start, then the lyrics go "tick-tock, tick-tock ..." and after an insert shot of a large pocket-watch we're transported to a high tech high energy MTV version of Wonderland with Gwen playing most of the characters while miming to the song.
The lyrics et al don't have a lot to do with Lewis Carroll but seem to be a reference to the way the world expects people to grow and develop in a certain way, irrespective of a desire for individuality. Nothing much new there.
Gwen Stefani was born in Orange County, California on October 3, 1969. As she was growing up she was strongly influenced by ska and punk music. Her band "No Doubt" was started by her brother Eric Stefani, and a friend of his, John Spence, in 1987. Gwen joined later on as lead singer. Now doing solo work, she is one of the biggest names in contemporary music.

WHAT YOU WAITING FOR?

What an amazing time
What a family
How did the years go by?
Now it's only me

Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock
Tick tock

Like a new cut pattern, you're repeating yourself
You know it all by heart
Why are you standing in one place?
Born to blossom, bloom to perish

LOOK AT YOUR WATCH NOW!
YOU'RE STILL A SUPER HOT FEMALE!
YOU GOT YOUR MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT!
AND THEY'RE ALL WAITING FOR YOUR HOT TRACK!

What you waiting
What you waiting
What you waiting
What you waiting
What you waiting for!?
