Reading for Pleasure - Group Leader, Jill Pullman

It will be possible to accept new members who would be interested in joining this group. We don't have a waiting list.

We at St.Luke's Church Centre in Franklin Square from 10.15am until 12.noon.

I think that we are one of the most long standing groups, which started in October 1992, with just three members, including myself. There are 12 members in the group.

We read a variety of books, ranging from mainly contemporary novels, classical, and biographies . Some of the books that we have read in the past have been "Middlemarch" "The Di Vinci Code", "The Africa House", "The Sea, the Sea", and our next book will be "Love and War in the Apennines" by Eric Newby.
The books are chosen by group discussion, and we usually chose a book for several months. We occasionally read a book of our own choice, which we bring to the group.
Each member of the group gives an over view of the book, which is discussed as a whole, so the discussion is often very lively.
