“A truly gelliatric show”
Stage Company Trucco presents a triple-bill of new contemporary dance works at The Helford Theatre, Truro College from the 23rd to the 25th of February.
The choreographer Anne Lazenby explores themes of love, form and speed in three contrasting pieces; the music reflects these themes and ranges from Elvis to Einaudi.
The first piece draws influences from the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth and is a combination of soft shapes and structures, and imposing and angular lines. The piece is calm and beautiful and reflects the contrasts in Hepworth’s art.
“My heart in your hands” is a light-hearted dance based on the idea of getting old and remembering the past. Set to various Elvis Presley songs, the movement evokes the quirky imagery of “The King”!
The last piece in this triple-bill is fast paced, energetic and daring. Influenced by the movement on motorways, the dancers travel through the space gliding, leaping, falling, and crashing!
The versatile skills of the dancers really enhance the choreography and the evening promises to be entertaining, breathtaking and humorous in equal measures - Don’t Miss It!
