Hello and Welcome to my page.

Well I have been given this page to tell you a little bit about me, Terri Lee, the driver. The question I get asked most often at the track is "How did you get involved in Drag Racing?"

My interest first started off in the custom scene and it all has to be blamed on my sister Jayne who is now, and has been for a while the wife of Steve 'Wheels Up' Wells. Many will know the wheel standing Orange Pop Pick Up running in Pro-Et, well that's Steve's. Before he got into Drag Racing Steve used to customise and if ever they were going to a show I would be tagging along at the age of about 13. As soon as possible I passed my driving test (first time I might add) and at the time I brought this very Escort Van that you see as a dragster today."

At 18 my mechanical knowledge wasn't up to much so my father and I did as much as we could to jazz it up and also accomodate me to sleep in it as well. I went to alot of vanner shows and then met my husband Ian and yes he was into cars too. This is when the van took on some radical changes in various looks. But it ended up with a Rover V8, some beautiful paintwork and all the work had been done by Ian. The van was now a trophy hunter but I had never driven it with the V8 under the hood. This is the time when Steve started racing his Pop Pick Up. Ian and I eventually became part of his crew and once bitten with the bug the shows started to become a bit of a bore. Ian had said he wanted to turn the van into a dragster. Yep fine I told him BUT on one condition he said, "I build it and you drive it!" I thought to myself yeah I can do that, anyhow by the time he finished building it I'd be drawing my pension, so I agreed to the deal.

At the end of 2000 I had to uphold my end of the deal because driving out of the workshop with a deep rumble came my little Escort Van with a 5.7 litre Chevy V8 with a 6:71 Supercharger thrown on the top for good luck. OH.....MY.....GOD!!

My first Run What Ya Brung......My first attempt at a burnout..... and you want me to make it to the other end!!! My butterflies from the day before had gone, Thank God, now it was just pure concentration and remembering in what order I had to do things. "Now is it line lock button down first, then brake or was it the other way round!"
