Shan Bryans – Senior Instructor

Started training at the age of 13 in Judo and Tae Kwan Do at age 18 spending
some time on the competition circuit.
 

He joined Taikido Kai in the early eighties, taking over as one of the two main Instructors in 1988. As the more experienced martial artist presently teaching the style he is effectively the chief instructor of the club.

Since taking over the club he has continued cross training in several arts including Ju-Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Aiki Jitsu, He also maintains an interest in Okinawan Kubudo, Xingyi and Iado.

He specialises in teaching aspects of Street Self-Defence training.


Duncan Ward – Technical Instructor

Started training at the age of 21 at Taikido Kai and has assisted teaching at the Club since 1988 alongside the senior instructor Shan Bryans.

As well as training in Taikido Kai he has studied Shotokan Karate (SKI), Ju Jitsu (BJJA, Ronin Yudansha), Aikido (Yama Arashi) and Okinawan Kobudo (RKAGB).

He maintains an interest in Iado, Xingyi and Tai Chi Quan.

Within the club he is responsible for teaching the more traditional aspects of the style such as Kata and prearranged sparring.


Ann Potter – Senior Black Belt

Started training at this club in 1995.

As well as training in Taikido Kai she has cross-trained in Judo and Tae Kwon Do.

Looks after new student enquiries as well as helping out with some teaching.

She is responsible for advertising the club and assisting in the update of this website
