The Avon Angling Club have been in existence for over forty years.

Our aim is to provide affordable, quality fishing for both local and visiting Anglers.

 

The Club have the Trout leases downstream of Ryelands bridge to the confluence with the Clyde - almost the entire river. We also lease the Salmon rights for the whole of the River from the Crown Estates

 

Purchase of an annual permit confirms you as a member of the club and entitles you to a vote at our regular monthly meetings. These are held at 7.30pm on the third Thursday of every month in the Stonehouse Institute.

 

Most of our activities centre on our hatchery and clubhouse at Craig Bridge.

We are situated next to The Strathaven Ales Brewery.

 

The hatchery always has trout eggs and fry over the winter time and you are

Welcome to visit any Saturday Morning from 9.00am onwards.

 We also need teams of volunteers to clean up the river, build styles etc. We also walk the river where you can observe an abundance of flora and fauna. if you are interested in helping out we meet every Saturday morning from 9.00am onwards at our club house at Craig Bridge.
