The Avon Angling Club Avon Fishings- Part Two-Browns Bridge to Craig Bridge |
|
|
This stretch of the River is faster flowing with some good long glides and deep pools. There are plenty of places here to fish a dry fly, particularly the ubiquitous Geenwells Glory.
Anglers will probably have to cross the river
several times to fish all the available water.
Thigh waders should be adequate. The deep runs
And pools just above the weir are “Hot Spots”
For bigger trout.
The weir pool has a reasonable head of fish and is popular with younger anglers. It is a deep and slow flowing pool and is probably best fished with worm or spinner ( I prefer a floating rapala size 3cm!).
Please remember that there is absolutely no fishing
Between the weir dam and Craig Bridge.
Craig Bridge is a good parking spot and The clubs
Hatchery and club house are on the right bank looking downstream. There is usually a club member
around most mornings and always on a Saturday. For a small donation we might even make you a tea or a coffee!!
