In the Winter of 2005 I felt the need to create a special thing to celebrate the Christmas period with my own unique scene. Thus the Rativity Scene was born, wherein the characters were rats instead of humans. I really wanted to create it with real Rats but alas this was not to be. They do bite terribly. Finally in the Winter of 2008 - three years after our amazingly successful Rativity Scene, we set to work on its follow-up - Father Ratmas and his sleigh.
Well... that's not strictly true... I have been working on the "Last Rat Supper" in between work, domestic chores and a History Degree for a while now... but I digress. The Last Rat Supper (a faithful rendition of Leonardo Da Vinci's "Last Supper" but with Rats in instead of humans will be finally finished sometime in 2009 so please don't be shy and come and visit us again...
Again, I was aided by my beautiful and talented wife, Andrea, in making the Father Ratmus and sleigh. When I say "aided" what I actually mean is I was the brains behind the idea and did some of the peripheral donkey work and she was the artistic genius behind the actual costumes....
