the band's blog
Welcome to the blog (that's an online journal, diary type thing
for you technophobic, grumpy old gits).

may news
The boys are taking it in turns to write the blog and this month
Darren, the inimitable Bass Meister
himself, has put virtual pen to cyber paper...
With a large and ever increasing gig list (much my wife's dismay)
2009 is fast becoming the best year so far for the boys of Guilty
Plea.
So far this year we've had some cracking gigs at places like The
Black Horse in Sidmouth, The Prospect in Exeter and the
New Quay Inn down in Teignmouth plus a many more. We're always
open for new venues and have recently got a gig on Friday, 4 September
in The Corner House, Crediton. And we know from experience
that the Crediton posse are always up for a party.
The 60th Birthday party bash we did at The Honiton Motel was a
blast and together with a great crowd, who were well up for a bop
of three, it was a fantastic night.
thank you!
A big thanks to Zoe, Neala and George who
have travelled to see us on numerous occasions now and are getting
quite a reputation for their style of having a good time. (Nothing
to do with the drink you know... Well, possibly...)
We're now past 65 tracks in our song list with several more in
the making. There is the possibility [Threat? Ed.] of some
original stuff if the gang think it's up to scratch, but being a
bass player and therefore, by nature, of very little brain I couldn't
possibly comment.
We keep getting good comments about the variety of our set and
I think that's what makes us different from a few bands, but to
be honest, we just play the music that we all like. We've added
some Queen, more Who and Status Quo and now have some Joe Jackson
and ZZ Top coming on soon.
gear and groupies - no, really!
Mark's got some new toys including a lighter and some would say
louder amp (all adds to the atmosphere, eh?) Mind you, I'm glad
he's going for the lighter amps.
Pete's had his locks cut and to be honest he's attracting far too
much attention from the female members of the audience. Les is still
attracting male fans, though
Only joking
It's just that
the sheep are getting jealous. Baa!
another thank you!
A big thanks goes for our resident web monkey, JD,
who had done the bizzo yet again in updating the website. Top Man!
[Web Monkey is blushing. Bless!] Rumour has it he may be
creating a new website, so all you lucky people can have a look
at his amazing photographs. Stay tuned, it'll be worth it
Wow!
Anyway, onwards and upwards. Stay close for details on new gigs
and new equipment.
february news
We've added a bunch of new photos to
the site to show you lovely people how much hard work goes into
rehearsing and getting each number right before we play it live.
Oh, and Mark has some lovely new toys a thunderous (and
slightly scary) Marshall amp, and a new Manson guitar. Lucky sod...
And don't forget to come and see us! So, mosey on over to the gigs
page to see where we'll be soing our thang next.
january news
Well, that's another year done and dusted. Hope you all had a wonderful
time over the Christmas and New Year period, especially those of
you who went to our end of year bash.
Hope we see you at one of our upcoming gigs!
