SOCIAL AND OTHER EVENTS; NEWS

A further series of free French films, this time by Claude Chabrol, is showing at the Maison Française (Maison Française d'Oxford, Norham Road, Oxford OX2 6SE Tel. 01865 274220). Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore please arrive in good time. There is free parking in Norham Road after 6.30pm. Banbury Road buses stop nearby (Park Town stop). To allow French group members to see these films, some language session dates have been adjusted; PLEASE SEE BELOW.

Saturday 16 February: A winter walk through Christ Church Meadow with the Oxford Urban Wildlife Group, with optional entry to the Botanic Garden at the end. Meet outside Oxford Town Hall at 2pm.

Advance notice 1: a trip to see Measure for Measure by the Creation Theatre Company at the North Wall Theatre, Summertown. Provisional date: Thursday 20^th March. Booking information to follow by e-mail.

Advance notice 2: a Sunday afternoon group trip on the Cutteslowe Park Miniature Railway is planned for May – watch this space.

	LANGUAGE MEETINGS All language meetings below are held at: The Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel, Abingdon Road, Oxford 8 -10 pm (unless otherwise specified) French meetings are generally held on the SECOND and FOURTH Tuesdays of each month, and Spanish meetings on the FIRST and THIRD Tuesdays (BUT SEE BELOW). Italian occasionally, as announced.
