For those that don't know, this is a killer gospel version of the Marvin Gaye classic straight from New Orleans, Louisianna. Ten members strong, the Hot 8 Brass Band formed in 1995 and previously released the track on a small label before hurricane Katrina. After the hurricane the label never fully recovered and the track was pushed underground until Quantic started using it as a secret weapon in his DJ sets...
Rob Luis heard it and set about signing them to Tru Thoughts, Gilles Peterson got on it, and now what has got to be THE bomb of 2007 is finally available on a limited edition one sided exclusive 12" - but be quick because there are only 500 of them!
If you miss the limited 12" worry not - Tru Thoughts are releasing the full eight minute version and a radio edit of Sexual Healing on the 1st October 2007, with an LP hot (no pun intended) on it's tail. Definitely one to follow very closely, I can't wait to get my hands on more of their music.
