Brooklyn's awesome Truth & Soul record label presents the second volume of their singles collection entitled 'Fallin Off The Reel' and it's an absolute winner!
Truth & Soul have been consistently releasing limited edition 45 singles with never more than 2000 copies being pressed. Now for the first time, those who don't have a record player, or simply missed out on these singles, can finally hear the musical gems that have given the record label their impeccable reputation for quality music.
'Fallin Off the Reel vol.2' has every Truth & Soul 45 single presented in chronological order from 2006 until now, and includes one unreleased bonus track. Leon Michels and Jeff Silverman started Truth & Soul after working at Soul Fire Records and they produce, perform on, engineer, and mix all the releases the productions.
The kind of thing any self respecting funk and soul lover will instantly snap up, then have on constant rotation. Proper authentic soul music that is produced to perfection and is as funky as it comes... ace!
Impossible to pick a standout because there isn't a filler insight. Be it the super smooth almost Motown sound of 'I Can't Help Myself', the horn drenched latin love affair that Bronx River Parkway deliver, Timothy McNealy's heartfelt version of Marvin's always appropriate 'What's going on', or the dope ass low end grooves of 'Phil My Don' and 'A Little Sloppy' to the phat neckin hip hop gem that is 'PJ's' and the gargantuan 'My World' by Lee Fields, there will definitely be at least one track that will blow your head clean off. Simply put, we absolutely love this album!
