Now McJimmy Engineers has a annual turnover of 50 BILLION elmonits a year and has grown into five divisions (SPACE VESSELS, WEAPON DESIGN, MEDICAL, CYBERNETICS and COMBAT VEHICLES).

Creation of the drug REGENEX II by your MEDICAL division was a great benefit to you. The drug could be used to regenerate small areas of destroyed tissue and bone structure i.e. fingers, toes, joints, etc. This meant you could regrow your knee joint and throat area using the new REGENEX treatment and consequently raise your EMPATHY stat up by 4 points.

Breakthroughs in the CYBERNETICS division resulted in a more compact bionic left arm. The new arm looks exactly like your right arm (colour pigment and size) but retains the strength and toughness of your older more metallic version.

In the last couple of years the New Republic has been plagued by space pirate attacks. The attacks started off small and insignificant in number, but now have reached epidemic proportions, resulting in a substantial reduction of vital trade between member worlds.

The New Republic Defense Fleet began patrolling the affected areas but where largely unsuccessful in curbing the escalating number of attacks. The main reason for this failure was the design of the pirate ships, which were faster than the MC-80 Star Cruisers, yet carried more firepower than the Nebulon Class Frigates.

The need for a new class of starship was clearly evident, something that was fast enough to catch the pirate ships and having enough firepower to best them in combat. McJimmy Engineers were commissioned by the Senate to produce such a starship. The result was the "Freedom" class Light Cruiser. Using many new technologies developed by your company, the new vessel's hull was constructed using a new special alloy to reduce overall volume. The ship also incorporated a revolutionary anti-fighter defense system using PLASMA technology (developed at your WEAPON DESIGN division). Two ships were constructed as prototypes, the "Freedom" and the "Pride of Sullust".

After completing successful space trails with the New Republic Defense Fleet, the "Freedom" returned to space-dock above Mon Calamar. The ship's performance surpassed even your expectations, and led to an order of 40 such light cruisers for the New Republic Star Navy.

Six days ago a huge explosion ripped apart Space Dock 2. The "Freedom" which was being replenished at the time was engulfed by the fireball and destroyed. This destruction not only caused substantial material cost (3 BILLION elmonits) but also killed a significant portion of your most skilled technicians and design personnel.

Initial reports indicated that the cause of the explosion was the "Freedom" herself (i.e. that a reactor failure has caused the explosion). You couldn't believe this, you had personally checked all systems data and there were NO design flaws. Luckily Carlos Castillo, who was on Mon Calamar on police business at the time, offered to investigate.

After careful examination of the available data, Castillo concluded that the explosion which destroyed the space dock could only have occurred if several systems had failed simultaneously and all backups had been bypassed. Considering that the explosion happened with no warning (ground control had lost contact with the dock for 20 minutes before the explosion) the only explanation was sabotage.

A fast-moving shuttle was detected leaving the docks moments before the explosion ignoring all communication attempts. It is hard to believe that the space pirates could compromise the high security aboard the dock and plant the explosive devices that caused the explosion but the evidence all pointed to this.

You immediately notified High Command of the findings and they passed this information onto the New Republican Senate. After an emergency session, the Senate have decided to set up a special task force to combat the pirate threat. A special meeting has been arranged on New Alderaan to decide who will be part of this new team. You have been asked to attend.
