Disastrous Illusions

Dr Foster found that he had 6 patients with something in common; they all imagined that they had escaped natural disasters. To try to get to the bottom of things, he invited them all to attend together, "to discuss their miraculous escapes".

That was another disaster waiting to happen. Once they all got together, they got their stories so mixed up; they even forgot their own names, for a while.

Well, that was a worthwhile exercise! After that great mix-up, they all became cured. The only trouble was that they forgot exactly what they had believed had happened to them.

Dr Foster tried to help straighten this mess out, with only a few clues. Can you help him?

Problem Solving Grid

The exciting escape from New Orleans was undertaken in a Boeing 737. Emmy thought she had escaped a hurricane, but not in Melbourne. The Tsunami in Paris was not escaped from by Homer. .

Brad did not use a Toboggan or Pontiac in his dramatic escape. Johnny pedalled furiously away from his plight on a bicycle. Homer did not flee from an earthquake. Frances did not escape from the forest fire, but did escape from Toronto. Did Homer escape the flood?

The Pontiac was not used in Paris and was not used by Frances, who also chose not to use a canoe. The earthquake was escaped from, miraculously, in Snow Shoes, but not from Toronto, or by the Jamaican escapee: Brad. Jodie did not escape from the volcano in Athens.

Who? Escaped What? Where? How?
