The Rodents' Revenge - Part 1

Six rodents had their homes and had been storing food for winter in a local orchard, unfortunately Mr. Rattan, the owner, was unaware of this and had ploughed the orchard and felled all the trees, stripped the hedgerows bare and completely ruined the rodents' homes.

What was the name of each rodent, what animal were they, where did they live and what food had they collected?

Problem Solving Grid

Name Rodent Home Food

The resident of the plum tree had stored up a lovely supply of dried fruit; this wasn't Gunner

The shrew's home under the apple tree was completely ruined and it was a very sad shrew that staggered away with tears rolling down his plump little cheeks. He didn't lose a store of Walnuts and he wasn't named Gunner or Trevor

The Rat was named Trevor or Midge and had stored up various grains or various vegetables, but not under the hedgerow.

The squirrel, not Gunner, was absolutely desperate after losing his home that he'd just fully furnished; he didn't lose fruit or lettuce.

The mouse did not live under the Pear tree or Oak Tree, but did have either various grains or dried fruit stored

The vole named Major did not lose worms and his home was not under the hedgerow.

The rodent who lived under the oak tree was named Tenner, he didn't have a store of worms and he isn't a squirrel. Shunt is not a lover of lettuce or worms and so he didn't store those, he also didn't live under the hedgerow.

Either the resident of the pear tree, was this the rabbit, stored grains or the resident of the walnut tree stored walnuts
