Carleatheran and Stronend
You can just about park offroad just past the access road to Ballochleam (see photo). There is plenty of parking off the acccess road except for the No Parking sigh on the gate.
The more southerly track to Carleatheran from the sheepfold at NS666895 is stony and gets closer to the summit than the northerly grassy track which starts at NS656898 which can be quite boggy. The access road and southerly route are bikeable.
To get to Stronend, return by the southerly track to above the Spout of Ballochleam where a track along the S bank of Boquhan Burn. Although this looks to be a direct route to the summit, the track disappears and the going is very rough. Instead cross the burn above the Spout and follow a grassy vehicle track which rollows the edge of the ridge all the way to the summit. Although a bit boggy in places, the going is much easier.
