If the ford at NN714773 is impassable, the footbridge shown on the map at NN716784 no longer exists. However the ford shown at NN718788 is now a bridge and also the dam NN714792 is also a bridge. Although the SMC Corbett guide recommends returning S between the two hills, the N ridge of An Dun is a mini striding Edge and is great in descent. The river crossing is easy and the ascent up A'Chaoirnich straightforwards.
