Teaching Notes on The Iniquity of the Heart.

Ps 139:1-6 +13-18 speaks of God’s planning of us. We are all special to Him.
Unique in every way.
The way we look, walk, talk, love, care, even our special way of living.
He also knew what would be formed in your heart by the sin of Adam.
He knew the work of evil to destroy your own very special personality God gave you.
Satan has put evil in the heart of man.
God is removing it - if He is allowed to do so.
God, by the gently caring heart of the Holy Spirit, is seeking to help people live free from the iniquity within their hearts.

Why?
Because it seeks to destroy the love for God.

Matt 24:12, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall grow cold."
Iniquity of heart causes the love to grow cold.
Rom 6:19, "I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as you have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness."
Holiness brings forth life and love, the character of God.
Iniquity brings forth death and the character of evil.

1) the condition of being without law

1a) because ignorant of it.
1b) because of violating it, contempt and violation of God’s law, iniquity, wickedness.
Breaking of God’s laws.
Breaking the Spiritual principles of God.
(Example. Love one another, Don’t do it. Broken the Law.)

Unrighteousness, unjust.

1) Injustice, of a judge.

(Not judging correctly.)

2) Unrighteousness of heart and life (Living from the heart a life without God)
3) A deed violating law and justice, act of unrighteousness.

We might know what is in our mind, but we do not always know what is in the heart.
It can surprise us sometimes!
Doing our own thing and not be led by the Lord = Fleshly activity.
Live by the flesh, then we have to let the flesh supply what we need.
Cannot live by the flesh, world’s way, and expect spiritual blessing from the kingdom of God.
Live by the Spirit and find spiritual blessing. Out of this world.
Supernatural things will happen created of the Spirit of God.
“Abide in Me and I in you, you will see greater things than natural things”
From childhood, we have to teach people how to live rightly.
Showing people how to live and have life.
As we seek the Kingdom of God, where He is, life will grow and He will have His way.
The veil was torn down in the temple that we may have access to our God.
Living in sin, living with iniquity in the heart, is like putting up the veil again.
Sowing it together, making the poles for it to hang on.
It is re-creating the barrier between God and man. And from man to man.
Iniquity will close you off from others.
A clear, clean heart and conscience will keep you open and transparent.
God is to be easily seen in us.

God has offered us the power to change the heart.
God has made a way for us to live without iniquity.
God has given us everything pertaining to Godliness. His Holy Spirit.

Will you submit to Him, to change the heart? Submission is called obedience!
Or will you continue to let sin’s power, the iniquity of the heart have its’ way.
The power sin has in us is given by our own iniquity. Plus external temptations.
Jesus said “Satan has nothing in ME”
No runway to land his planes on.
No harbour to tie up his ships.
No station for his trains.
No road for his lorry load of evil on its way to you in the future.
He has a juggernaut full of filth, full of lies, full of sin waiting to give those who want it.
Juggernaut = (1), a large heavy lorry.
(2), any terrible force that demands complete self sacrifice.

We do not have to accept what is evil, we do not have to have iniquity in the heart.

Rom 8:12-14. The sons of God are those who are led by His Spirit

We are here to please our Savior, our redeemer, our God of love, and not self.
Gal 5:16-26 deeds of the flesh and fruit of the Spirit.

How can I do it? You cannot, but you can submit to God who can.
If we take our responsibility, and face the fact that iniquity is in the heart, repent, then He will do the work of changing it.
Live right, righteously. And then we will have His power to deny the power of the flesh.
Always live from what you understand - that God loves you.
Fight against ungodliness and be open to receive His blessings.
Allow Him into the secret places of the heart.

Let Him deal with those evil traits of Satan. Let Jesus put into us His strength, His love, His life.

Just keep Saying:

“YES, TO JESUS EVERY DAY”
