Sat 19 June 2010 - Walk and Talk moot, midsummer ritual and picnic, Sutton Park 10:45 to 17:30 (as required).
Druid-led mid-summer ceremony, picnic and optional walk and talk at the Druid's Well, near Bracebridge Pool, Sutton Park on Saturday 19th June 2010. You don't have to be a druid or follow the druid path to attend. Well-behaved children and animals are welcome. The timetable is as follows:
10:45 - if you let me know well in advance and you are coming by public transport, I can pick you up in Sutton Coldfield town centre or at the station.
11:15 - 11:30 meet at my van at the car-park for Bracebridge Pool. Bring anything you need for the ritual, biodegradable offerings, cake, mead, poems, songs, flowers, robes, whatever.
11:45 to 12:30 (approx) Mid-summer ritual at the Druid's well.
12:30 (approx) Return to the car-park. Anyone coming just for the picnic, meet us there then. Stow the ritual items and pick up the picnic stuff.
12:45 approx Head for the meadow by the Pool for the picnic.
After we've finished eating, those that wish can join me for a walk and talk along the lake (hopefully to see the horses). We'll play it by ear as to when we leave. Anyone needing a lift back to the station or bus will be given it, but make sure you ask.
The best way to get to Bracebridge Pool is from Four Oaks gate, I've found. From Sutton centre follow the A454 towards Aldridge and Walsall. The gate is opposite Park Drive just before the traffic lights - careful, it's easy to miss. In the park travel south for about 1/2 mile and take the right-hand fork. The car-park is at the top of the hill.
