Artisan Story Pendants
Commissioned & Personal Pieces

Each of these pendants was inspired by events, landscapes, the garden and other things, thus a story of how they came into being.
This beautiful jewellery is made using a technique that is very labour intensive and intricate. No soldering or glue is used, just hair fine strands of silver or gold coiled onto a framework. Each part of the design is carefully chosen and attached with a hair fine strand of wire. Each piece of jewellery is individual in it's design and cannot be repeated exactly the same, so each one is unique; a tiny piece of wearable art. Enquiries for commissions are welcome.
Haru Gasumi
This commission was inspired by the very first camellia to bloom in the late winter early spring in my garden, Haru Gasumi, a pale pink pointed, small, scented blossom, very dainty and Japanese looking. It is a willowy thing and would be fabulous draped over a small wall. The very first blooms had appeared just before the snow and it always gives me so much hope that spring will not be long; I just love to see it bloom. Another day I was looking out of the study windows when I spied in the garden next door, a perfect posy of yellow Primroses, quite solitary on the brown earth. The new leaves are such a tender green right now. My gem pallet was Rose Quartz for Haru Gasumi and buds, Moss Agate for stems and Jasper for the evergreen leaves. Primroses are carved Citrine, the tiny leaves are Tourmaline and the drop is pale green Prehnite. The centre panel is satiny nugget pearls between faceted Prehnite rondelles.
Rapparee
The inspiration for this challenging commision beach pendant was a local cove.
I used blue topaz faceted rondelles for the sea and sky, hessanite garnet was the sand, with natural raw red garnet making some nice rocks, aquamarine is my rock pool, with moss agate seaweed, a pearl is a bright sun and a sweet crab and seashells in silver. I love the shape of this pendant.

Winter
I took inspiration from the huge silver Rutilated Quartz round, the rutiles are so many that it reminded me of snow, quite appropriate I thought. Leaves were next and a problem as I wanted to use gemstone as well as silver, I had searched for some previously but nothing seemed right. Then I found the amazing Tourminalated Quartz carved leaves tucked into the box with my other Rutilated Quartz. I chose a long teardrop shape for the frame to represent the loss of the flowers and insects that are sleeping but also knowing how joyful we are when they awaken in the spring, so we have the silver flowers and leaves asleep beneath the snow. Another inspiration struck, our study is high up on the third floor and in the angle of wall and window I have been watching an intrepid spider build her web, she repairs it many times, from wind and rain and is such an industrious little creature I sometimes feel quite ashamed of my inability to get things done so well. Part of her web has been forever translated into fine silver wire with drops of Topaz and an icy crystal butterfly whose wings reflect the wintry sun, another small butterfly rests by a leaf and a tiny blue one the color of Topaz sits above the Quartz.

Winter pansies silver art pendant
Winter Pansies
An exquisite collage of semi-precious stones, crystal and silver on a leaf shaped framework, coiled in hair fine silver wire. Three sweet pansy faces of unikite, jasper and strawberry quartz. The unikite and jasper pansies have a glistening Swarovski crystal dewdrop, they sit amidst agate pebbles, fancy jasper, amber, silver beads, a handmade butterfly and fan shaped leaves. At the top of the pendant, the two leaves are goldstone and jasper, with a double woven bail. The satin cord is only for display purposes but I do have coloured hand dyed pure silk cord available. No glue or soldering has been used in this piece of artwork, just fine silver wire.
The length is 3 1/2'' long, width at widest point is 1 1/4''
Berries
Entirely made with a coiled framework of silver wire, no soldering or glue has been used in this beautiful brooch. The large berry is a faceted nugget of Garnet, small Garnet berries, a Red Jasper leaf, a piece of Green Tourmaline and a Garnet drop depends gracefully from the scroll. Sterling silver beads in different sizes, a sweet Karen Hill Tribe butterfly has alighted on the berries. The pin at the back is base metal for strength. The length is 2'' to the bottom of the Garnet drop.
Berries Brooch/Pendant
The black pearl silver art pendant
The Black Pearl
A huge black south sea shell pearl nestles among waves of Swarovski crystals. A carved Moonstone fish sports in the seafoam. The framework of this delightful piece is silver carefully coiled in an elegant design. A sterling silver chain has been added, accented with Swarovski crystals.
Although time consuming, I love creating these inspiring, distinctive works of art.
