Dick receives the first prize winning cheque from Barbara Windsor for The Sabres entry in the "National Music Man" contest in 1962 organised by ABC Cinemas. The band also won a massive but almost useless Grundig tape recorder and a fleeting part in Michael Winner’s first film, "The System" with Oliver Reed.
