Dick's Japanese Fender Telecaster. "I was doing an album with The Shadows and they knew  I was looking for a Tele. At the time, I was pretty skint and was really only considering a Squire one. Some stuff was being brought up for Hank from Arbiters so I asked them if they would bring a nice Squire Tele for me to take a look at. They arrived with the Squire and also a stunning sunburst Jap Fender '50's re-issue, 'just in case I might be interested.' Well, it was no contest but when they told me the price of the Fender, I knew I wouldn't be able to afford it. Hank came in and said, "Which one do you like best?" I told him the Fender was by far the best but that I would have to stick with the Squire. He grinned, picked up the Fender, handed it to me and said, "Dick, we'd like to present you with this guitar to say thanks for all your hard work!" My chin made a dent in the floor! As it happens, this Tele is one of the very best I've ever played and it sounds so good I kept the original Jap pick-ups in it. It looks a treat too - the grain in the ash body is gorgeous. It was in tune when it arrived and it's stayed that way ever since! Perfect!

Thanks, Hank, Brian and Bruce."
