The Free Church Defence Association believe that the times call for a strong re-affirmation of the principles of the Disruption Free Church as these were carried forward by the Constitutionalists in the years prior to 1900, at a time of similar difficulty and trial for the Church.

Annual Spring Conference
The Annual Spring Conference was held in Midmills College, Inverness where over three hundred people turned out. The venue had to be changed because the turn out was so high. The speakers were the Rev Hugh Ferrier speaking on "The Christian in the Home" and the Rev Maurice Roberts speaking on "The Christian in the Church". The day Began with coffee and registration, then after singing Psalm 122 Rev Roberts spoke with a time for questions and discussion afterwards then we broke for lunch. The afternoon began with the singing of Psalm 124 and then Rev Ferrier spoke again there was time for questions and discussion. The day ended with the singing of Psalm 72.
Southern Branch Rally
The FCDA held a Southern Branch Rally at Partick Burgh Hall on the 17th April. The speaker was the Rev William Macleod (Portree)
Western Isles Branch Rally
The FCDA held a Western Isles Branch Rally at Stornoway Primary School. The speaker was the Rev Hugh Ferrier (Inverness). Tapes of the previous three FCDA public meetings held in Stornoway are available.
Skye and Localsh Rally
A rally took place at Portree Free Church on the 15th May. The speaker was Rev John Gillies (Glasgow)
