Response to the Rev Alex MacDonald In our last issue of Foundations (January 2000) we responded to an attack upon our integrity by the Rev Alex MacDonald. This article of Mr MacDonald was entitled “True or False” and was posted on the Free Church Message Board and subsequently printed as a letter in The Monthly Record (January 2000). One point raised by Mr MacDonald continues to generate queries. We had said: “The only committee [the sub-committee] which looked at all the evidence came to the unanimous conclusion that he [Principal Donald Macleod] should be tried”. Mr MacDonald objected stating that “subsequently the papers which constituted the evidence were copied to the whole Committee, and the whole Committee again came to the same finding”. Having carefully checked out this matter we believe that our original statement was accurate because only a fraction of all the available papers and evidence was seen by the whole Committee.
