On Presbytery s taking up item 5a/b of the Special Commission’s Draft Proposals,
REV. R. JOSEY(rtd.) asked the Moderator it that was the right time to make a motion.
MODERATOR (Rev. D. Lamont, Rosskeen) acknowledged.
CLERK (Rev. J. Macleod, Portmahomack) indicated that at that stage those were potential motions as motions would be handed in and voted on after consideration of the Special Commission s Draft Proposals.
REV. R. JOSEY addressed his motion and indicated that a reaffirmation of 95 would not make the division in the church go away and that they should let common sense prevail.
REV. R. JOSEY read his motion that he intended to move, that the Presbytery of Ross have 5a deleted.
REV. J. FREW (Kiltearn) requested that the Moderator make clear what Mr Josey was asking for: Mr. Moderator-is Mr Josey asking that the whole of 5a be deleted?
MODERATOR acknowledged.
Presbytery continued discussion and subsequently addressed item 5b.
Item 5b was discussed and the Moderator requested any other comment on 5a/b before Presbytery moved on to the next item.
