From the Secretary

It is difficult for us to give any meaningful update on the issue of the repeal of “Clause 28” as the situation is changing day after day. Yet, we have to report that from our correspondence with MSPs and our meetings with them, we must conclude that the Scottish Executive is totally out of step with public opinion on this issue. Why Wendy Alexander, Donald Dewar and company should even have contemplated raising this in the first place is beyond us. Suffice to say that the Executive in Edinburgh has an open ear to those whose morals are far removed from Biblical Christianity. We wish that we had such influence. However, we must continue to raise our small voice and we encourage our readers to please keep writing to our MSPs, newspapers, etc.

If there is any good to come out of this, it is the fact that it must strengthen our hands in the call for Christian Schools. One Highland MSP even said the same to me when I visited her surgery recently.

The result of the Ayr by-election must surely give the Labour/Liberal Executive a warning shot across their bows. Let them learn!

We call on Christians to pray. To pray that God would stem the tide of ungodliness, which is sweeping over our society. We have a duty to protect our children and that we must do at all costs.

They are the future of the church.

The mother of Moses placed her child in an ark of bulrushes, may we seek grace to protect our children from the harmful influences of this generation. (See Hebrews 11:23.)

What testing we as Christians may yet be called upon to go through, we know not; but we believe that a time is rapidly approaching when we must put a mark in the sand and say “no more – no further”

We ask you again to consider these things seriously.
