There are two kind of songs:-
a) One's with error in them (humans one's) and
b) one's without error (the Lord's ones).
So when we chose which one's we can use there are two types
a) Man's songs (non-canonical) or
b) the Lord's songs (the words of Christ - Canonical).
Taking the two statements above and putting them to that well
know verse gives eight possibilities:
psalms, hymns, spiritual songs
1) a, a, a
2) a, a, b
3) a, b, a
4) a, b, b
5) b, a, a
6) b, a, b
7) b, b, a
8) b, b, b
So at the moment there is a one in eight chance of being right.
What fellowship has error with truth. This means that 2)-7)
all go. Leaving only two possibilities a,a,a and b,b,b.
If one is to take on a,a,a then anything goes. If that is
the case then what is all the fuss about? - This interpretation
is unacceptable (seeming we are to worship God in spirit and
in *truth*).
So we are left with one - b,b,b. Where are these song's in
Scripture? Wouldn't it be really helpful if we could find
them all in one place! mmmmmmmm........
