Thorncliffe is a traditional Lakeland slate terrace house built in 1898. It is ideally situated in a quiet residential area between the villages of Windermere and Bowness, in the English Lake District. It is only a short 5 minute walk to the many shops, pubs and restaurants which both villages offer, and a10 minute walk to Lake Windermere. The house which has recently been refurbished and modernised, has many of the original features but also has a contemporary feel, with original works of art decorating the walls.
Thorncliffe is owned and run by Amanda Watson, an Artist and at present an ex - Physiotherapist.

The stunning landscape of the Lake District awaits you, with miles of well maintained footpaths there are many high or low level walks to choose from. Mountain bikers are also well catered for, with specific cycle tracks at Grizedale and Whinlatter Forests.
The Lakeland towns and villages of Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead, Grasmere, Kendal and Keswick, provide an alternative to the fells. With many shops, cafe's, pubs, restaurants, theatres and art galleries there is something for everyone.
Ash, Laura and I look forward to welcoming you to "Thorncliffe" and the Lake District.
