Ardingly lure competition

This popular competition has been running for quite a few years now and just seems to keep getting better. In 2003 there were 2 twenty pound+ fish caught, one on a topwater. There are usually some good perch to be had too.

The competition is run on a friendly basis and not taken too seriously. It is a good day out and a great chance to meet up with fellow lure anglers to pick up some tips and tricks from one another.

The competition is open to anyone and tickets are bought on the day.

The competition will be run the same way as it was last year with prizes for best fish and best bag. Perch count 8 times their weight for the biggest fish prize, anyone who’s good at maths is welcome to give me a hand working out the winner if there are a lot of good perch caught!

We will be meeting up at 9am at the clubhouse as normal, so come in via the Ardingly College entrance as usual. The draw for the walk off will take place at 9.30 and anyone wanting to drive round to the mill will again be asked to wait at the clubhouse until half an hour after the last name is called for the walk off as this gives everyone a fair chance to get to where they want to be.

Apparently there has been a fence erected around the lake since last year, so it might be a good idea to bring waders in case the water is a bit close to the inside line of the fence. The reservoir is fairly full from what I understand.

The tickets will be available on the day at a cost of £10 for adults, £6 OAP and U16 free. Prizes will be awarded for best fish and best bag in both junior and adult classes.
