G D A E, these 5 string violins have normal violin string length and spacing, so they are played like a normal violin. 

The bodies are built to enhance good low notes and the 'swept off' tailpieces are an aid to this also. Not for the faint hearted, these 5 string violins give extra range and depth for those who require it.
