The J4 Violins

So, here at last is my new Jazz/Swing violin. The J4.

This violin has the same freedom of expression in its shape as does Jazz/Swing music.The sleek uncluttered lines immediately give the player a sense of liberty, and the cutaway eases playing right up the fingerboard.

More information about my new innovative J4 violins

My idea was to make a violin specifically for ease and speed of playing. The cut away allows for easy reach up into the higher registers, and the uncluttered treble [bowing] side gives a feeling of confidence and freedom to the bowing arm.
Acoustically they work well too. The E strings are powerful and direct and the others are well balanced and sonorous, with just the right amount of 'cut' to them.
I call them Jazz/Swing, but they are equally at home playing any type of music..
I'm really pleased with them and think they will make an exciting addition to my unconventional range of fiddles.
