After Carnival Collective I took up a post at All Ways Learning working on their database and website development. My role changed in September 2006 to that of Programme Co-ordinator, I am involved with the research programme, learning sites, learning community and various other activities.

All Ways Learning support the professional development of arts managers in the South East of England. All Way Learning are engaged in research that defines the field and some of the challenges faced. The arts management section of their website will satisfy the curiosity of anyone wanting to know more information about this aspect of my work. The section explores descriptions of the sector, what defines the field and some of the challenges faced. They are also a great resource for professional development for, and research within, the sector. The research that they and others do, as I see it, tries to ‘unpick’ current arts management practice. They are looking for understanding and exploration, for patterns and anomalies, for current practice and good practice all of which fascinates me.

The pilot of the Making It project came to an end in December 2005 at which point I was lucky enough to start working with Making Space. Making Space is an independent arts organisation with a focus on crafts and in particular jewellery, ceramics and textiles.

Find out more about them and my role in the organisation.
