As I continue to spend time on my sketchbook, reading, exploring and making, I see connections between the things that interest me and the threads that entangle themselves in my work.

I see creativity as the opportunity to explore myself and the world around me. Textiles chose me as the natural way to express myself. As well as my interest in visual and applied arts I also have something of an obsession with dance.

It is in dance that I see emotions expressed in a way that the visual arts have never quite touched my soul. We experience the world through the shell of our body and attempt to interact with others through our physical presence, yet we rarely reach out and physically touch each other. In watching dance, we can see what would happen if we really let ourselves go and let our bodies talk. I just find it amazing how through movement alone a choreographer can express things I’ve never been able to.
