Rastrick Voice
Some important aspects of Rastrick Voice.
The Citizens Panel. <link>
This Panel hopes to canvass the views of a target of 1000 local residents on local issues and concerns.
Newsletters. <index>
Regular Community newsletters and flyers are hand delivered to local homes. To request any of these, please email Councillor Rogan.
Local Community & Action Groups
There is strength and support in neighbourhoods and communities coming together to shape local services or lobby for local needs. Already a number of groups have been constituted as not for profit community associations. I will help and advise in any way I can. You might also find this interesting;- www.e-voice.org.uk
Lobby our MP
Our Calder Valley MP, Chris McCafferty holds regular surgeries where you can discuss or bring any concerns to her attention. You can contact her Constituancy Office on www.chrismccaffertymp.org.uk
Petitions. <log>
Petitions are an important method of telling the Council or Government that you feel strongly about one single issue. Local petitions can be presented on your behalf to the Mayor of Calderdale in Open Council. They are then in the system and must be responded to. For information or help, contact Paul Rogan.
E-petitions are becoming widely popular, RastrickVoice is registered with http://www.ipetitions.com/.
The Prime Minister's Petitions website is:- http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/England/
Council Questions.
As your elected member I can put written questions to any member of the Cabinet, who each have responsibility and are accountable for the Directorates of local government. These are read and replied to at Full Council Meetings which are open to the public. Questions can also be put to Chairs of the Scrutiny Panels which shadow the Cabinet Portfolios. Additionally to any Council appointed representatives to outside bodies, ie the Police Authority, Metro etc. Members of the public can do this too. Please contact me for further information or help.
