White Dwarf

Lots of coverage for the launch of Warmaster in Games Workshops monthly catalogue supplement, and for six months after. Coverage then mostly moved to the specific Warmaster magazine, but with sporadic articles occurring still in White Dwarf. The last mention was during the Storm Of Chaos campaign, and I don't expect to see Warmaster return to White Dwarf again.

Most of the information here was gleaned from the official White Dwarf searchable database, or Exodite's index. Issue numbers given here are for the UK, the US version seems to be one behind.

There is some confusion over this. The White Dwarf database says it's a Warmaster article, but I've read in another place that it might be a Warhammer battle report. I don't have this issue - any clarification would be welcome.

White Dwarf #295 (July 2004)

Fanatic Magazine

Produced by Specialist Games as a replacement for the six separate magazines published (usually) bi-monthly for Warmaster, Epic, Battlefleet Gothic, Blood Bowl, Mordheim and Inquisitor. Launched in a fanfare of optimism in the spring of 2004, it died after less than a year, caught up in the cull that ripped the heart out of the SG divison.

I have all of these, so can guarantee the accuracy of this section ;-)).

Fanatic Online

The online replacement for Fanatic (the printed magazine). A weekly posting of (usually) three articles for any of the eight games under the Specialist umbrella. The Warmaster articles have either been re-postings of older content from either White Dwarf, Warmaster or Fanatic magazines, or new, original, content that has been produced by fans. So, no new, original content from Games Workshop themselves.

As of 20th October 2006 (issue #84), Fanatic online has now gone monthly. If it stays at three articles per issue, then Warmaster should now average 3½ new articles per year .....

I've only included the new articles in this list. Any other Warmaster articles published in Fanatic Online have already appeared in this article index under their original publication. All of these articles should be available from the Specialist Games website here.
