Welcome to Chicken Roundabout!

This is my dedication to an unique and special place where against all the odds a colony of chickens have managed to survive the building of a bypass and now reside on a busy roundabout.

Just as the chickens have an ageless, curious fun appeal, so I hope that this site will be informative but fun too.

There has been much speculation as to the origins of the chickens so I hope that these pages will shed some light onto the subject, and also promote appreciation of them. I live within earshot of the Roundabout and have spoken to other locals including the ‘Chicken Man’, the Bungay Town Recorder and former occupants of the gate keepers cottage that used to stand on the site. I have also collated many historic photographs some of which I have included, so I hope that you enjoy viewing these pages as much as I have enjoyed constructing them...Have fun and Thank You for visiting!

Newsflash...An urgent appeal has been sent out by the chicken man for no-one to leave any more chickens on the roundabout as they are being cruelly attacked by some callous person. The remaining chickens are to be removed from the roundabout and re-homed, so any chickens deposited will have nobody to care for them.
