Chicken Roundabout has helped put Ditchingham on the map but the village has a real charm of it’s own. Take a look at the Village pages for a fun look into some of the more unusual aspects of village life.

And Finally why not check out Chicken Roundabout the novel on the Book page. A humorous account of the roundabout from the chickens point of view!

Chicken roundabout is a unique, and special place where a colony of chickens have managed to inhabit a busy roundabout on the A143 busy main route through East Anglia to Great  Yarmouth. Loved by locals and travellers alike the chickens go about their daily life seemingly oblivious to the speeding traffic all around them.

There were chickens on the site for many years before the bypass and roundabout were ever planned - see the history page for more information about this.

In more recent times they have received national media attention when the council tried to have them removed resulting in local protests - see the news page about this.

The chickens are greatly helped by ‘The Chicken Man’ whom I much respect and know well, although he shall remain nameless on this site. However a special Thankyou is due to his tireless efforts! See the gallery for pictures.
