Tonkaholics Isla Tanika, [Kipper], born 18:08:01. Our youngest Brown Tortie, what a star. Daughter of Ra and GCCF Imperial Grand Champion and Grand Premier & TICA Double Grand Champion Alter Tonkaholics Istar.

The first Brown Tortie Tonkinese, to become a Champion.

The first entire female Tonkinese to receive an Imperial Grand Challenge Certificate

The first Tonkinese to receive an Olympian Certificate

Who was that women, who said she would never have a dark Tortie in the house!

Kipper, at a show.

Kipper, is truly a star, with a personality to die for, she had her first experience of showing at the National, Olympia, 08:12:01, aged just three and a half months, she won the hearts of everybody, I have never seen the public so truly engrossed in a Tortie. Was this her tortie markings or her antics! A perfect little girl, she was loved by all, until she got home, later that night and then proceeded to let of steam, by playing chase at ninety miles an hour with Bella. Although we were all extremely tired we could not help laughing at some of the antics they got up to. Bella was just as pleased to see her young playmate, whilst the older members of the family looked on.

Kipper Mario Mage' aged 4 months

When Kipper, had her first set of professional photographs taken, [Mario Mage'] I would not have been upset if none of the photographs had come out. She had myself, a captive audience and the photographer in stitches. He jokingly suggested we should hire a Wild life photographer, to take photos as he might be able to keep up with her and her antics. I am not sure who had the most fun that day, her or the photographer. Funny enough all the photographs were excellent and he was able to get some of them whilst she was sitting down, in typical pointing stanch.

'Kipper' as she is know to her very special friends is a very smart cat, from a very early age she learnt to point, like Annie, our short haired German Pointer. I recall one show, some years ago now, where someone came running up to me, very concerned, to tell me she had hurt her foot. So please if you see her sitting as photo above or standing to point, please do not be alarmed. This is just Kipper trying to get some 'more' attention.

At just three and a half months she won The Mary Hodgkinson Memorial National Kitten Cup for the year. Keeping it in the family. She also received her piece of Crystal, for winning Best of Breed.

Lady Christine Campbell

Kipper's first litter were born on 29:10:02

Four of her first litter of kittens, have at some time graced the show bench. Her kittens were absolutely fabulous. Look out for Tonkaholics Iset, Tonkaholics Isphahan, Tonkaholics Toshiki Aishai and Tonkaholics Zengsong.

Lady Christine Campbell

Kipper's second litter were born 23:06:2004, this was a repeat mating with Tonkaholics Arabian Knight, so hopefully the kittens will be just as fabulous. Tonkaholics Ziggy Stardust was just one of these baby's.

We had planned her third litter of kittens to be born around about April 2006. The daddy was yet again Tonkaholics Arabian Knight. We were hoping for something special from this mating

Kipper at The Tonkinese Breed Club Show 2005, She had a wonderful day, An Imperial Grand Challenge Certificate, Best in Breed, Best in Show Adult and various firsts in side classes.

27:04:06 Due to a difficult labour, Kipper had a caesarean section and was then neutered, she will become a much loved layabout. However she is at this present time enjoying bringing her last two kittens up. We are just so pleased that our vets were able to save her.

It is only 9 months ago since 'Kipper' was neutered, she went on to bring her last kittens up and has since then enjoyed her time back on the show bench, today the 27 January 2007 she gained her second title in that time.

The first Tonkinese cat to have both Grand Champion and Grand Premier in her title.

Lady Christine Campbell

Robert Fox

27:10:07; Today was a very special day for 'Kipper' she became the first brown tortie to gain the title Imperial Grand Premier, giving her the official title of Grand Champion & Imperial Grand Premier Tonkaholics Isla Tanika. She was awarded this special title at the Tonkinese Breed Club show. I was just over the moon with her, but not content with this she went on to become Best in Show neuter which was a unanimous decision from the three best in show panel. However Diana Harper then went on to make her the best in show exhibit. Thank you to all her judges today and in the past.

We are biased and know she is a wonderful cat, a great ambassador for the breed

Kipper, had another red card day, was Best Neuter and Overall Best in Show at the Tonkinese Cat Club 26:05:2012

I cannot believe that she has pulled the hat trick off again at the age of nearly 11.

We had debated all week whether to take her, she looks so good for her age, with that particularly sparkle that she has. One minute she was going the ext she was not, we left the decision to her.  Asked her if she wanted to go showing, Friday night, her ears pricked back all excitedly and she raised her paws for her nails to be trimmed. That's all I needed to know, she enjoyed her day tremendously strutting her stuff, we now wait anxiously for that dreaded needle biopsy result.

Kipper, did well at the Cambridge Cat show, winning Best in Show Foreign

Kipper, had another red card day, was Best Neuter and Overall Best in Show at the Tonkinese Cat Club 28:05:2011.

She also achieved, best Temperament & eye colour . I cannot believe that she has pulled the hat trick off again at the age of nearly 10. I think it is her love of people that makes her love showing so much.

Kipper is still doing so well, she pulled it off again at the Tonkinese Breed Club 2011, at the grand old age of 10, gaining her second Olympian Premier Certificate, Best of Breed and first in all her five other classes, which included Breeders Neuter Female and Best Temperament.

We are so proud of Kipper, she was placed 5th in the Royal Canin 2009 top exhibit. The fact that only her Best of Breed and Best in show Neuter points counted, makes this even more special.

Yes! We do love our Torties. They are all beautiful on the inside as well as the outside

When I am cuddling these little Torties, I wonder why I did not always like them.

They are my most even tempered cats and nothing seems to upset them, when the others girls have an off day, due to those female hormones, they look at them as if to say 'For goodness sake, what's your problem?'

Kipper, did it again, at the ripe old age of 10, had a Red card day at the Three Counties Cat Show 2011 and won a coveted Olympian certificate. The first Tonkinese to do this.

Kipper, did it again, at the ripe old age of 11, had a Red card day at the Tonkinese Cat  Show 2012 and won a coveted Olympian certificate. went on to be Best in Show Neuter and then Overall Best in Show

Very difficult to separate these lovely cats and place them: It came down to who was the most relaxed about being handled, and it was a to all of them that so late in the day they were still so patient and easy- going.

(Neuter with best temperament 1st), A beautiful Tonkinese. So relaxed she was barely bothered to wake up. (In fact I wrote 'unconscious 'in my notes) Really nice to handle and so relaxed with strangers. Purring at us.

Good size to well muscled body, proportionate limbs, balancing tail. Medium wedge of very good overall balance, desired slight break to profile and slight whisker break. Level chin of good depth, level bite, love the little 'goatee'/ Expressive green/blue eyes, well set and of good size. Medium sized ears set with good width between. Super length and texture to coat showing warm browns and reds across body with slightly deeper tones to points. Absolutely delightful temperament. Many congratulations on her Overall Best Exhibit in show award!

(Breeders Female Neuter) A super brown tortie Tonkinese female neuter. Nicely rounded top of head with good width between her neat ears, and gently rounded contours. Good profile showing a slight nose break leading to a level bite and good depth to chin. Large expressive eyes, displaying super bluey green eye colour, more almond shaped than round and set well part. A well muscled firm body with slightly rounded chest. Very clear brown tortie markings on her short, close lying coat with subtle merging of toning colour on a tortie background. Evidence of a shaved patch on her neck. Slender leg with neat oval feet  and a tapering tail to balance. A lovely example of the breed with a super, gentle personality.

(Foreign Visitors Neuter 1st) A wonderful brown tortie female who showed no sign of being nearly 11 years old. A nicely rounded top of head with good width between the ears, a moderate proportioned wedge leading to  a muzzle that is neither pointed of square and a strong whisker pinch. A slight nose break in profile, leading to a level bite and firm chin. Medium sized ears, slightly taller than wide with broad base and oval tips. Blue green expressive eyes more almond than round. A medium well body, firm and muscular which is a good size and weight for age. A lovely clear coat with good definition of coat pattern: warm brown colour merging with darker points, with the red of the tortie mingling nicely. The coat was shiny and close lying, with just a hint of dandruff near her tail. Legs slender and well muscled with neat oval paws. A tapering tail of medium length to balance. A very friendly matriarch who was happy to show herself to her adoring public.

(Olympian Class 1st, BOB and Olympian) Slightly rounded top of head with generous width between the medium sized, broad based ears which tilt forward and continue the outer lines of the face. Slight whisker pinch defining the rounded muzzle. Large expressive eyes showing more rounding in the lower line, in today's light appearing greenish blue with fair depth of colour. Viewed from the side, modest nose break, level chin just deep enough. Overall, a balanced look to the head. Trim body with good muscle tone supported on slender legs with small, oval paws. Medium length to the slightly tapering tail. Close lying coat with a soft texture, fairly short, mingled dark brown with bright and muted tones of red. A confident, happy girl appearing to be enjoying her day out.

An outstanding class of worthy cats that were not only fine examples of their breed but also had personality and ''presence''. It was a very hard task, but I loved it and thank you for entering. (Olympian Class) A very attractive Tonkinese of excellent type and quality; she had a very good head that formed an equilateral triangle. She had a slight whisker pinch and a rounded muzzle. In profile she had a slight nose break and a reasonable chin. Her eyes were large and expressive; they were set well apart and were a pretty aquamarine tone. She had a well balanced body with good muscle tone and slender legs. The tail tapered nicely. Her coat was fine, soft and silky in texture but was a little long down the spine. She was a most attractive tortie with the colours gently merging. She was shown in excellent condition and had a lovely temperament too.

Thank you, Maria Chapman-Beer, for this critique, that you gave Grand Champion & Imperial Grand Premier Tonkaholics Isla Tanika, at the BOB cats Show 17:09:2011

(BOB) What a delightful temperament she has, a really gentle girl who shows very well. Very good overall type and in fine condition at 10 years of age. Balanced head with large pale greeny blue eyes of good shape and set. Slight nose break to profile, would ideally like a firmer chin. Good size to mature body of good weight, still training her figure, slim legs and oval paws. Well mingled brown and red tortie coat, gradually merging into points, a few red tabby markings. Good shape to tail

[A treat of a class of gracious, titled ladies. (BOB) 5 entered. 10 years and looking so good for her age. Head shows a gently rounded top, slight whisker pinch defining the firm chin all showing balanced proportion. In profile there is a gently nose break. Medium size ears placed equally between the sides and the top of the head, oval tipped and tilting forward. Expressive, broadly placed eyes held wide open an almond shape, the colour showing hints of blue and green. Heavy well muscled body with legs and tail in proportion, just a little slack on the belly now. Close fitting and short, soft coat, a well mingled darkish brown and pale red, very slightly darker brown on the points. I have met this lady before and as always she appears quite confident and relaxed in the show scene.

A wonderful old lady showing a superb balanced look. She was in lovely condition but had the rather saggy undercarriage that comes with age. Nicely rounded top of head with good width between her neat ears and gently rounded contours. Good profile showing a slight nose break leading to a level bite and good depth to chin. Large expressive almond shaped eyes, displaying bluey green eye colour. Her coat was glossy and short lying. The brown tortie coat pattern was warm with varying shades of red and showed the subtle dark tones on the points. Lovely elegant legs with neat rounded paws and a tail of good length to balance. An excellent cat with a super temperament.

(Breeders Neuter Female 1st) A lovely dowager lady. She sat ready to be admired and showing a perfect tortie pattern to her coat. She was in lovely condition but was rather more than medium in build. At 9 yrs old that can be forgiven . Nicely rounded top of head with good width between her neat ears and gently rounded contours. Good profile showing a slight nose break leading to a level bite and good depth to chin. Large expressive eyes, displaying bluey green eye colour. A wonderful example of the breed and I wasn't at all surprised that she went on to win Best in Show.

(1st Imperial Grand Premier) An old friend and still looking so good at her age, giving the youngster a run for their money. A lovely balanced look with an almost perfect head with the typical look in the front aspect. The ears were set perfectly on the head and of correct size and shape. The eyes were well set on the head and they were quite large and expressive, being almond-shaped and well set apart on the head. They were green with blue. The body was of good length, well balanced. firm and quite muscular. The legs were slender and well muscled. The feet were neat and oval. The tail tapered well being neither thick nor whippy. The coat was just a little open today but was short and silky in texture with a sheen. The patterning was typically Tonkinese with slight merging to darker points. There were acceptable stripes on the legs. Shown in good condition and showing so well given her age. Well done.

(IMP GPC) We have met several times before and a beautiful tortie she continues to be, even in her eighth year such a quality girl. A lovely balanced female Tonkinese with a good balanced head. Her most attractive feature continues to be her eyes which are just so expressive and of super size and shape, just so correct. The colour was green with some blue. The ears were so well set on the head and of medium size and just set so correctly on the head. The muzzle was gently rounded and tapered so well with a slight dip in the profile as required. The chin was a pleasing depth. The body was quite firm and legs were of good length giving an elegant stance. The coat was short and fine and it lay well to the body with a good gloss to it, just slightly open at the back. There was a merging to darker points which indicated her Tonkinese pattern but brown torties can be a challenge in this respect. Shown in good condition and a credit to the breeders and the breed

Thank you, Helen Marriott-Power, for this lovely critique, that you gave Grand Champion & Imperial Grand Premier Tonkaholics Isla Tanika, at the National Cat Club. 28:11:09.

(AOV Foreign Gr Pr) (1st) Very attractive girl , who is a bit of a favourite of mine, mature well balanced and of good type. Long slender body is lithe, elegant and of very good weight and substance, feeling firm and well muscled with straight back, correctly rounded chest and slender well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head forms balanced medium wedge with gently rounded muzzle of good breadth with defined whisker break, slightly rounded top of head between well spaced medium large ears, which are broad at the base and of good shape with rounded tips. Large and lustrous eyes are shaped like rounded almonds and set wide apart and at a slight slant to give typical expression, colour is a pale slightly bluish green. Very gentle curve to brow, gentle break and straight nose, chin is level and of quite good depth, hair forms a distinctive tiny ''beard'' under lower jaw, which is particularly noticeable when viewed in profile. Medium length coat is fine and very close lying, silky smooth in texture and in beautiful condition with a glossy shine. Warm rich medium sable brown predominates mixed with warm rich bright tangerine red, colours are a little richer and deeper intone on the points merging very gradually to slightly lighter tones on body and under parts: a few very faint shadow bars just visible on knees and elbows, Tail tapers evenly to finer rounded tip and is a fraction short to balance. Calm, confident and friendly girl, full of purrs and showed well.

For giving her qualifying Imperial Grand Premier Certificate, Best of Breed and putting her up for Best in Show Neuter. Which she achieved and went on to be best exhibit of the day.

(IMGP & BOB] A really super head so well balanced and ideal. A good inverted equilateral triangle with good well set ears carrying the outer edge of the head. The ears were really excellent for both set and shape. There was a definite muzzle pinch with out any sign of exaggeration. The eyes were large and very expressive, almond-shaped and set well apart. The setting was as required with a rounded lower eye with the top line slanted. The eyes were greenish blue. The body was slim but firm and well muscled. The legs were slender and well muscled and the feet were neat and oval in shape. The coat was of a really lovely quality being close lying and short. It possessed a lovely sheen. There was a lovely subtle merging to the darker points which is not always so obvious on a Tortie. The warm brown tortie had various shades of red. The nose leather and paw pads were brown and pink. This was a lovely girl, so stylish and presented well for the show and having such a lovely demeanour so showing herself to perfection

(BOB) Very attractive girl of good type whom I've met several times before, mature and nicely balance she was a worthy winner of Best of Breed today. Slender well filled body is elegant and of very good weight and substance, feeling firm and well muscled with straight back, correctly rounded chest and well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head forms balanced medium wedge with gently rounded muzzle of breadth, defined whisker break. Well spaced medium large ears are broad at the base and of good shape rounded at the tips. Large and lustrous eyes are shaped like rounded almonds and set wide apart and at a slight slant to give typical expression, colour is a pale slightly bluish green. Very gently curve to brow, gentle break and straight nose, chin is level and of quite good depth, hair forms a distinctive tiny 'beard' under lower jaw, which is particularly noticeable when viewed in profile. Medium length coat is quite fine and very close lying, smooth and silky in texture and in beautiful condition with a glossy shine. Warm rich medium seal brown predominates mixed with warm rich bright red, colours are a little richer and deeper in tone on the points merging very gradually to slightly lighter tones on body and under parts. A few very faint ghost marks just visible on knees and elbows. Tail tapers evenly to finer rounded tip and is a fraction short to balance. A very confident and friendly girl, full of purrs and a pleasure to judge.
