Men Only Breakfast (M.O.B.)
Statistics of church attendance tell us that around 10 years ago women outnumbered men in British churches by around 2 to 1. The most recent figures tell us that it is now more like 3 to 1. This is rather surprising as Jesus was a man, and a real man’s man in so many ways. We want to try to reverse this trend and rebalance the equation!
For that reason the M.O.B. was formed, to appeal to men who want to enjoy good food, good conversation, good fun and a chance to think and talk about the really big questions. It meets monthly on the second Saturday at the Chequers pub in Churchill around 8:20 a.m. with a guarantee of finishing by 10 a.m. We enjoy a great cooked breakfast (don’t eat before you come!) followed by a guest speaker addressing some aspect of life from a Christian perspective. No faith is assumed - just that you are male and can eat!
‘Agnostics Anonymous’ is a discussion group that runs from time to time as the need arises. It is strictly no-holds-barred and not for the faint hearted, but a great chance to really talk in depth about the things that we find hard as Christians, or the things we find hold us back from being Christians. And it is open to women too!
Do come and join us at either or both - you will be very welcome.
