The game is a traditional game of skill played by throwing "cheeses" at a set of 9 skittles placed on a table apprx 8 feet away.  The game or variants of it are played throughout Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.

I play in the Rugby Skittles league, based around the town of Rugby in Warwickshire.  I'm part of the Indian Social Club team who play in the "E" league.  As a measure of the popularity of the game, there are 5 leagues of 12 teams each, representing over 40 pubs and clubs from Rugby and the surrounding villages.  Most "traditional" pubs in the area have a table (e.g. pubs that sell real ale and aren't part of national chains)
