Cheap Fun and Good for you!

Me and the missus have decided to try out a bit of walking as a pleasant way to get some fresh air, some relaxation away from the stresses of work and some quite time together to chat, away from the ringing phone and inane television programmes.

The walks shown below must be taken with a pinch of salt - at the time of writing, I've not actually done them!  I take no responsibility for loss or damage caused by ravines, precipices or angry bulls that are not marked on the maps.

Speaking of maps, I've shamelessly nicked the maps with no regard to copyright legislation from http://www.uk.map24.com/ and then added my own details.

One final point - the "P" symbols on the maps are not car parks - they are pubs!  ;-)

Hillmorton Canal Walk

A short 3.5 mile circular walk starting from Hillmorton Fish and Chip shop (what healthier place to begin and end!).  The route takes in 4 pubs (I would recommend the Stag & Pheasant) and Rugby's historic radio masts that for years transmitted the time signal that watches were set by.  View Map

Barby Canal Walk

Another 3.5 mile circular walk - this time out in the sticks a bit more.  The route still takes in three pubs though - and if you're feeling more energetic you could pop into Barby for a pint at the Arnold Arms (add a mile each way to the trip).  View Map
