

1976:
Construction of the Model railway layout commenced in Stafford by four friends Tony Clarke, Michael Farrington, Gordon Loach and David Westerman. Who formed, "The Top Link Model Railways Group".
When completed two years (and hundreds of hours ) later and at an approximate cost of £1,500, it measured 20 feet by 16 feet and was completely portable!!
The principal station is modelled on the "Old" LNWR Station at Stafford (1861 - 1964).
The layout was exhibited during the late 1970s and early 1980s at the following towns:
BEDWORTH, BRIDGNORTH, BURTON-ON-TRENT, COVENTRY, CREWE, LICHFIELD, LONGTON, STAFFORD, TUNSTALL, WALSALL. The exhibitions were enjoyed by thousands of Model Railway enthusiasts throughout the Midlands. BACK TO Home Page
