Update on progress 06/06/2006
In 1994 the layout found a new home the Telford Steam Railway at Horsehay in Telford
In 1999 a complete refurbishment was started by Dennis Blundell, Peter Edginton and Arthur Hutchins, with finance again from Gordon Loach. The Main layout has been restored to its former glory, following months of dedicated effort.(GORDON ENJOYING ONE OF MANY BREAKS FROM THE ARDUOUS TASK OF TEA MAKING) New signalling has been fitted, some track and point replaced and added, this will allow up to 16 trains to be used on the 5 running tracks. A fully working fair which includes "Big Wheel", dodgems and various side shows. Since 1999, we have been updating and repairing track, points, with normal electrical problems associated with layouts. The main area of work has been on the steel works and around the new engine shed and coaling station. SMALL LAYOUT This layout will appeal to the younger children and adults alike. Since 1999 we have been slowly upgrading and refurbishing this layout, including new controllers. This layout now features Trams, large hotel and a canal scene. Many thanks to Michael Farrington who donated the layout. THE FUTURE 1: We will continue to improve both the layouts. 2: Building a portable layout to help promote the models at shows and assist with promotion of the Telford Steam on there stand at Exhibitions. 3: Very Long term plans, are to replace the existing Railway House with a larger building which will incorporate, the tea rooms and museum.
