We are currently experiencing quite a few cases of infectious
tracheobronchitis aka Kennel cough. Any dog contact can pass it on its
not just at kennels. It can be vaccinated against with an intranasal
vaccine which is not part of the usual booster vaccine. Most kennels
now insist on it as a condition of boarding. Contact us for further
details.

Vicki has passed her final nursing exams and will be a fully qualified VN once the coursework and details are sorted.
We now have an Ultrasound machine which Nichola is putting to good use.
Many patients can be scanned with minimal restraint, which is more reassuring particularly for our frailer heart patients.
Andy missed the 3 hour target at this years London Marathon by 1 minute 25 seconds- maybe next year?

As many of you will know Sarah has left on her round the world
tour, mainly following the sun. Her place has now been taken by Nichola
Crummack who moves to us from Wright and Morten. Conveniently Nichola's
veterinary interests seem similar to Sarah's so all small furries
needn't worry too much. Nichola's other interests are falconry,
reading, tai-chi and golf, or at least that's what she said on her CV.

Kylie is now back from maternity leave and at present nobody else is on
it. Pam has returned after a few years away and is helping out on
Fridays and other days where possible. Ellie has now left though. We
struggled to compete with the lure of free broadband, digital and
mobile phones, and we wish her well in her new position. She has been
replaced by Alex who we have reassured that things can only get better,
as her first task was to console a distraught owner, who had just run
over her own cat.
Practice regular Duc the 8 year old GSD has now been adopted by Andy,
after her owners emigrated. Andy can now be spotted in Torkington Park
not only running but also being dragged behind a squirrel pursuing
German Shpherd.

With one or two holidays coming up, emailing us may not receive
the promptest of replies so call 0161 483 1794 or fax to 0161 612 7532
instead please.
April 2007
Andy completed the London Marathon in just under 3 hours 10
minutes, 10 minutes behind target but a personal best by 5 minutes.
Bob is now back after 3 months and seems as well as usual !

The Torkington Park Baby boom continues, just in case you
were wondering why some of us look more "tired" than usual. Diane is
now coping with todler time, while Vicky is due to return to work this
month after maternity leave with her daughter. In the meantime Andy and
Gill have a third daughter born in December, and Kylie starts maternity
leave this week.
Our new assistant in reception is Abigail who is covering for Kylie. We
hope everything will run smoothly but let us know if Kylie's
organisation skills are being missed before she returns in July.
Bob will be on leave for the next few weeks having surgery. (neck not cosmetic)
Lisa has said she will do the Great North Run again this year and Andy
is supposed to be doing the Flora London Marathon unless he
disintegrates before then.
Stop Press: Vicki has just passed her level 2 Nursing exams.
