Our kennel name ‘Tournesol’ comes from Mas Tournesol, the name of the house where we have spent many happy holidays in France. “Tournesol” means ‘sunflower’ in French, which we feel, fits in well with the sunny nature and disposition of the French type Brittanys we breed.

Since we became the proud owners of our first Brittany in January 1989 our aim has always been to base our kennel on established French lines and to keep the breed dual purpose. We try to provide the opportunity for all our dogs to achieve their full potential and we are proud of the part they and their progeny have played in the promotion and development of the breed.
They include Fosscott Damani who is behind many Brittanys in the UK today including FT Ch Bestobel Hiver who was only the second ever in the breed and the first male to hold this title. Our foundation bitch Ch Patouche Jiji, the breed’s first bitch full champion and the first full champion to be bred in the UK. She is the dam of the breed's first UK Dual Ch Tournesol Toutou at Bryantscroft and Sh Ch Tournesol Odette avec Patouche as well as other top award winners of bench and field. Tournesol Salut was exported to France where he has been used extensively at stud. Our first import, Sh Ch Rio du Bois Saussin, from a well-known working kennel in France, is passing on his many virtues. Among his progeny are Ir Sh Ch Lehavre Tonnerre, Patouche Taquine who won an award in the BCGB Novice Field Trial 2005 and Tournesol Vielle believed to be the first Brittany to gain the KC Good Citizen Gold Award. Our latest import Ana de la Saga des Marais avec Tournesol has not been here long but is already acquitting herself well.
