EARLY CLYDE STEAMERS :

Captain James Williamson, in his book "Clyde Passenger Steamers 1812-1901" lists turbine steamer TS King Edward as the 309th Clyde Steamer, following PS Comet of 1812. Prior to 1866 and the inauguration of services by the North British Railway, Williamson lists 234 vessels.
