PS Caledonia (1889)
Launched on May 7th, 1889 by John Ried & Co at Port Glasgow for the CSP Co
Single crank 2-cylinder tandem steam engine, 30 and 54 in x 60 in
Engineers : Rankin & Blackmore of Greenock
Dimensions : 200.4 ft x 22 ft
244 Gross Registered Tonnes

The first Clyde steamer to have compounded engines, unusually working one crank only
Revolutionary power unit included oil fired boiler
Reboilered in 1903 for the use of cheaper coal fuel
Originally on the Rothesay run and later displaced to the Holy Loch
Served on the south coast of England and the River Seine in France during World War I
Returned to the Holy Loch station in 1920 until the end of the 1933 season
Scrapped at Barrow
