of England Royal Mail Steam Packet Co.
Sold in May 1916 to the Admiralty becoming a minesweeper in the
Mediterranean Sea
Bought back by her original owners in 1921
Renamed Duchess of Cornwall in 1928 so that her original name could
be used for a new liner.
Did not serve with the Admiralty in World War II having been returned
as unsuitable
Sunk by bombing at Southampton dock in 1940 but raised and returned
to service.
Withdrawn after the 1946 season
Final voyage October 16th 1946 escorting the Cunard liner Queen
Elizabeth on first commercial crossing to New York.
Remained at Southampton as a reserve cargo steamer until scrapped at
Northam at the end of 1949
